September 29th – October 3rd     Week 7: Our Five Senses

Our Five Senses

We will continue our discussion on the  five senses this week.  We will discuss our eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and our hands & feet.  Later in the week we will take a sensory walk while walking bare foot.  We will paint a classroom poster also.  Due to the Reptile Show and our visit from the McWane center we will get to some activities that we didn’t get to last week.  These include playing  a guessing game with a variety of food.  We will smell, guess what it is, and then get to taste it.  On Tuesday we will be making a collage using different body parts cut from magazines.

Letters and Sounds

This week we will be introduced to the letter Gg.  We will also be introduced to the /g/ sound.  Our keywords this week will be goat.  We will be introduced to the written form of Gg.  I will guide the children by skywriting and tracing the letter Gg.  We will also discuss words that begin with the letter Gg.

Math

This week in math we will be introduced to the color orange.  We will review the shapes we have learned.  We will be introduced to sequencing later in the week.  We will have to use our thinking skills to put the cards in the correct sequence.  We will also discuss big and small.

Nursery Rhyme

This week our nursery rhyme will be Pat-A-Cake.  We will enjoy learning a song version for this rhyme.  We will also play a memory game. We will color the cake using the code.
